About SGPaddle

Independent water sports content, written from actual experience on Singapore's waterways.

Group kayaking session on water

Who We Are

SGPaddle started as a collection of notes shared among a group of weekend paddlers in Singapore. We kept getting asked the same questions by friends and colleagues curious about trying water sports: where to go, what it costs, whether they needed experience. Rather than repeating ourselves, we wrote it down properly.

Today, SGPaddle covers three core water sports: kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and wakeboarding. Our focus is specifically on Singapore, because generic global guides rarely account for the specific conditions here: equatorial heat, PUB reservoir regulations, SCF certification requirements, and the unique mix of sheltered reservoirs and busy coastal shipping lanes.

What We Believe In

First-Hand Knowledge

Every location and route described on this site has been visited and paddled by our contributors. We do not write about places based on brochures.

Practical Detail

Pricing, operating hours, difficulty ratings and what to bring. The specific information that actually helps you plan an outing.

No Sales Agenda

SGPaddle is an independent editorial project. We do not sell equipment, run tours or take commissions from rental operators.

Regularly Updated

Prices change, venues close, new facilities open. We revisit each article periodically to ensure accuracy.

Our Coverage

We currently publish in-depth guides on three water sports available in Singapore:

  • Kayaking - covering reservoirs, coastal routes, mangrove tours, rental pricing and SCF certification pathways.
  • SUP Paddleboarding - ranked locations from flat-water beginner spots to mild coastal conditions, plus equipment selection advice.
  • Wakeboarding - cable park comparisons, beginner technique breakdowns, gear recommendations and progression timelines.

Each guide is written to be useful for someone who has never tried the sport as well as for intermediate practitioners looking for new locations or progression advice.
